Dr. Robert McTurnal came to BridgePoint Church as the lead pastor in August 2020. He came to know the Lord as a sophomore at Gloucester High School through the ministry of the GHS Bible Club. He has served in vocational ministry since 1999, starting his ministry career as the Youth Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in December of 2004, and where he served until 2012, when he took a youth ministry position in Alexandria, VA. Robert and his family moved to Crossville, TN in 2016, to serve as the Associate Pastor of Youth and Discipleship before returning home to Gloucester to serve at BridgePoint. He loves teaching God’s Word and helping his listeners see that the Scriptures are real and relevant in our lives today as much as they were when they were written.
Pastor Robert earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Liberty University and Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and finished his Doctor of Education degree from Liberty University in 2019.
Robert married his wife, Christa, in June 2005 and they have a daughter Charis, a son with the Lord, Caleb, and a little one on the way in Feb. of 2021. Pastor Robert loves all things Disney, Star Wars, and Sports. He is an avid fan of Washington Football, LA Dodgers Baseball, Chicago Bulls and UNC Basketball. When not at church, he is probably watching or playing one of those sports, doodling some sketch somewhere, or, more than likely, spending time with his family.
